A 25-year-old woman has appeared before the Zvishavane Magistrate’s court facing charges of assault as defined in section 89(1)a of the criminal law codification and reform act Chapter 9:23.
It was the state’s case that on the 16th of October 2020 around 1100hrs the accused Perseverance Shumba of Nil township attacked Nokuthula Dune who had accompanied her friend to the accused’s place to ask questions about an alleged relationship with her husband.
The court heard that the accused became violent and in the ensuing fight bit off part of the complainant’s ear.
Zvishavane Magistrate Charity Tonongera found the accused guilty as charged and odered her to pay a $500 fine or spend six months behind bars.
