A 33-year-old Zvishavane man has been slapped with a 5 year (60 Month) jail term after being found guilty of 20 counts of unlawful entry and theft.
It was the state’s case that Peter Mugadza on numerous occasions unlawfully entered home in Zvishavane and stole property.
The court heard that on January 27th around 2200hours at Maglas Township, the accused approached the complainant’s house and took SQ1000 cellphone.
And on April 9th at Maglas Township Mugadza and stole an Itel 2160 cellphone, a handbag containing USD$15, Econet and Net one juice cards.
The court also heard that in May 2021 at A4A Maglas Township Peter Mugadza took an itel A16 cellphone that belonged to Nomsa Gumbo.
The accused pleaded not guilty to all 20 charges, but Magistrate Eviar Matura found Mugadza guilty as chard and sentenced him to 84 months behind bars but suspended 24 months for five years on condition of good behaviour.
