The Agricultural Industry Development Support Institute for Southern Africa says it appreciates the effort being put towards supporting the agricultural sector by the ministry of finance, however, it wants to see more emphasis on the allocation of value addition in the agriculture sector.
Speaking to Great Dyke news, Executive Director Jeffrey Takawira said they wish to see more emphasis on the allocation of value addition such as infrastructural development, dam construction and water harvesting techniques amongst others.
He highlighted that the allocations are inadequate, however, if the merger resources are allocated in the right areas the agricultural sector would strive.
Treasury last week allocated ZW$374.4 billion to the Agriculture sector, ZW$362.5 Billion.
