All is set for the 2022 Northern Region Minex exhibition and dialogue session to be held at Glendale Country Club, Glendale tomorrow.
Speaking to Great Dyke News 24, Minex Head of Marketing Rudo Chibondo said the Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Development Polite Kambamura will be the guest of honour.
“The exhibition is there tomorrow starting at 9 o’clock at the Glendale country club. The guest of honor is the Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Development Honourable Polite Kambamura.
“We are inviting miners to come in their numbers so that they can learn about governance, funding, health and safety as well as other issues. There will be representatives from the Zimbabwe Miners Federation (ZMF), Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, Environmental Management Agency (EMA), Fidelity, Zimbabwe Environmental Law Association (ZELA), Minerals Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe (MMCZ), and Shamva Gold Mine with various mining suppliers mounting exhibitions,” she said.
She added the event will help proffer solutions to some of the challenges being faced by small scale miners.
“It’s a great opportunity for mining value chain players, regulators, and stakeholders to meet and discuss challenges impeding growth of the sector with a view to coming up with solutions.
“The Deputy Minister and the Provincial Mining Director will address some of the challenges being faced by the miners and map a way forward towards the attainment of a $12 billion mining industry by 2023. So we are saying all miners from Mash Central should come in their numbers so that no one is left behind,” she said.
Minex is a physical and virtual information platform designed to ensure that the mining value chain is brought together for sustainable economic growth.
It connects small-scale miners with leading stakeholders in the mining sector including suppliers, buyers, financial institutions, policymakers, and the regulatory authorities.
