In a dramatic turn of events at a Gweru nightclub, a beer-fueled brawl ended with a woman behind bars after she allegedly attacked a fellow patron over alcohol. Melody Mandega, 32, found herself in the dock at the Gweru Magistrates’ Court after a violent altercation that unfolded in the early hours of February 5, 2025, at Diamond Plate Nightclub.
The court heard that, Mandega, determined to get more beer despite the club having closed, turned aggressive when her demands were denied. The situation escalated when she snatched a drink from Josiah Chigumba, 53, before smashing a beer bottle against his head in a shocking act of violence.
Now facing the consequences of her reckless actions, Mandega—who is unemployed and has no fixed address—was remanded in custody until March 6, 2025.
