Former leader of the Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC), Nelson Chamisa, has taken a swipe at politicians pursuing personal enrichment over public service, urging them to focus on improving the lives of ordinary citizens.
Speaking recently in Gutu, Chamisa expressed disillusionment with the current state of politics, emphasizing that many leaders are motivated by material gains rather than meaningful development.
āMany politicians are in it for the cars and monetary benefits, not the development work that those who vote for them expect,ā Chamisa said.
Chamisa, who stepped down from his position in January, cited the “contamination” and “hijacking” of the CCC as his reasons for leaving.
He warned against leaders prioritizing wealth and status, calling for a shift toward people-centered leadership focused on addressing the needs of the electorate.
