Chiredzi Farmers Turn To Lucerne Farming To Boost Presidential Goat Scheme

Farmers in Chiredzi West Constituency have ventured into lucerne farming in a bid to increase feed for goats received via the presidential goat scheme.

Speaking to Great Dyke news, Chiredzi West Legislator, Hon. Farai Musikavanhu said communities are receiving goats under the presidential goat scheme and they have gone a step further to plant lucerne that will feed into the goat scheme.

Goat farming is set to receive massive support from the government as one of the climate-proofing programmes.

Speaking recently Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development Minister Dr Anxious Masuka said the Ministry has already given out 600 000 goats under the presidential goat scheme.
