Complacency Blamed For July COVID-19 Spike

Health expert and medical practitioner Professor Doctor Solwayo Ngwenya says if the public continues to defy Covid-19 regulations, the country could be hit by more vicious variants like the Delta plus and the Vietnamese.

Commenting on the high Covid-19 deaths and infections recorded in July, Doctor Ngwenya attributed the increase to non-compliance.

1724 people succumbed to Covid-19 in July making it the worst month for Zimbabwe since the first case was reported. The month started with 51 221 cases and ended at an alarming 108 860 cases translating to 57 639.
