A crackdown on copper cable theft has resulted in multiple arrests across Zimbabwe.

In a statement the ZRP said in Bulawayo, four suspects-Onias Mherekumombe, Coster Mahlahla, Felix Tachiona, and Mandhlenkosi Nyati—were arrested for violating the Copper Control Act after a search uncovered stolen copper cables.

In Kwekwe, Shadreck Gerald Mbirimi, along with three accomplices, is accused of vandalizing a ZESA transformer and stealing cables. Authorities have recovered the vehicle and copper sacks and are seeking Mbirimi’s accomplices.

In Zvishavane, Albert Moyo was arrested for unlawful possession of stolen copper cables.
