Miners in the Great Dyke say they have hailed the outstanding work of the country’s defense forces which has improved safety and security in the extractive sector.
Speaking to Great Dyke News ahead of this year’s Defence Forces Day, Great Dyke News Chairperson, Anderson Tsikira said the mining sites are safe to operate in because of the security forces.
He highlighted that as an association they contribute towards the commemorations of this day each year.
Defence Forces day in Zimbabwe is celebrated on the Tuesday after Heroes’ Day, which is celebrated on the second Monday in August. On this day Zimbabweans commemorate the dedication of the country’s uniformed forces and their commitment to protecting national sovereignty, upholding justice, and maintaining law and order.
