Environmental Authorities Speak On Continued Use Of Mercury In Mining Sector

The Zimbabwe Environmental Law Agency says not much has been done to find alternatives for mercury which continues to pose as a danger to artisanal miners and the environment.

In an interview with Great Dyke news’, ZELA project officer Nobuhle Mabhikwa said there has not been enough research to discover the alternatives.

Also speaking to the same reporter, Environmental Management Agency Midlands spokesperson Oswald Ndlovu highlighted some of the dangers of mercury to the environment.
