Rynos Makwembere (34) has been arrested in connection with the murder of Claude Nyamatope (37), who died after falling into a disused mine shaft at SOS Claim, Jumbo Mine, on Monday.
In a statement the Zimbabwe Republic Police said the altercation, triggered by a disagreement over USD 10, escalated when Makwembere pushed Nyamatope, causing him to plunge to his death.
The police swiftly apprehended the suspect, and investigations are ongoing.
Authorities have urged for peaceful conflict resolution to prevent such senseless violence.
