This afternoon the Minister of Finance, Professor Mthuli Ncube, is expected to present the Mid-Term Budget and Economic Review in Parliament. This review will detail how the country’s money was spent in the first six months of the year. Various groups have different expectations for this budget.
Mr. Clemence Chiduwa, the chairman of the parliamentary committee on the economy and legislator for Zaka South, has outlined key areas of focus. He expects Professor Ncube to address the current state of the country’s economy, introduce new laws, and outline how financial issues will be managed.
Meanwhile, the president of the Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers, Mr. Denford Mutashu, expressed hopes from the retail sector. He emphasized that retailers are looking forward to the wider adoption of the new ZiG currency across various groups.
