Fiscal Authorities Urged To Maintain Discipline For Inflation Reduction

Economists say the government should maintain the fiscal discipline that has brought the economy this far if it is to achieve its target of 55% inflation decrease by July 2021.

Economist Kipson Gundani told Great Dyke News 24 that the economy is where it is now because of the discipline fiscal authorities have shown.

Zimbabwe’s year-on-year inflation rate dropped to 321,59% in February, from 362,63% in January. The rate closed 2020 at 348,59% but in March this year was projected by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe to further decline to 10% by year end.
