He comes from Midlands, Gokwe in particular and has been raising the Zimbabwean flag high as an umpire officiating at the Wimbledon tennis grand slam.
The black Zimbabwean Umpire Kossam Mhangami is once again officiating at Wimbledon. He has been doing it for so many years.
The Masuthi village boy’s love for officiating started after he hung up his racket. .
He first picked a racket at the age of fourteen at Sanyati Secondary School, only to play the game for fun. But now he is at the famous Wimbledon officiating at the All England Club.
“I am enjoying myself, sadly I am the only Zimbabwean at this grand slam,” said Mhangani.
“It’s really good and I am enjoying every bit of it.” he adds
You can imagine how all the Masuthi community is feeling. They are really proud that their one and only son is representing them at Wimbledon.”
