GD Investment Report

This report presents findings on the study to scope economic opportunities available in The Great Dyke
belt. The opportunities are scoped on a stakeholder basis with the key stakeholders being the public sector, which incorporates government ministries, government departments, and parastatal entities. The private sector is a key stakeholder, and the highlighted opportunities focusing on the mining sector,
agricultural processing, and other manufacturing industries. The Great Dyke is primarily known for its
mineral riches which are, however, finite, it is therefore critical to ensure sustainability of livelihoods beyond the lives of the mines. Therefore, development partners and non-governmental organisations are a key stakeholder, and the related opportunities are presented based on the vulnerabilities of the
communities surrounding The Great Dyke as well as the need to ensure sustainability and coexistence in
the exploitation of The Great Dyke resources. The report presents a background and context of the
study to ensure readers understand the extent of The Great Dyke and can as a result relate to the
opportunities and make informed decisions if they decide to exploit the economic opportunities. The
methodology used in conducting the scoping exercise is presented thereafter followed by the results of the study. Conclusions and recommendations are given thereafter to conclude the report.
