Government Speaks On Coal Production And Greenhouse Gas Emission Target

The Ministry of Mines and Mining Development says the targeted 40% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions which was announced by the president in the COP26 is a net result of a number of initiatives which include coal production.

In a recent interview, Mines Ministry Honorable Winston Chitando said the targeted reduction will be met through a number of measures.

Addressing delegates at COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland, President Emmerson Mnangagwa revealed that Zimbabwe is targeting to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40% from the current levels by 2050 to prevent disastrous impacts of climate change.
