A 23-year-old man is reportedly missing after the tipper truck he was driving plunged into a mine shaft near Hunter Road in Gweru.
According to an eyewitness who spoke to Great Dyke News under anonymity, the incident occurred while the driver was waiting for his turn to be loaded by an excavator.
He said efforts by the excavator operator to save the truck proved futile as the vehicle plummeted approximately 40 meters into the shaft.
