Commuter transport operators in Gweru are raising concerns over the deteriorating state of the city’s roads, citing escalating maintenance costs due to increased wear and tear on their vehicles.
Gweru Transporters Association (GUTA) director Richard Mudzinga said the poor road conditions are forcing operators to spend more on frequent repairs, impacting their businesses.
Operators are calling on authorities to prioritize road rehabilitation, emphasizing that improved infrastructure is crucial for efficient transport services and public safety.
