Dynamos Head Coach Lloyd Chigowe has voiced his displeasure with Telone FC’s tactics during their goalless draw on Sunday in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Bata Stadium.

Speaking to Great Dyke News after the match, Chigowe, known as “Mablanyo” among the Dynamos faithful, criticized Telone FC’s approach, particularly their time-wasting tactics despite being in the relegation zone.

“I was really not happy with the end results,” Chigowe said. “We came to play football but at the end of the day, they even hid the footballs, so there was no football to be played. The goalkeeper started delaying in the first five to ten minutes of the game. Of course, we should have taken our chances to win the game, but if a team is in the relegation zone, they should be fighting for three points, not just one. It can only be one way to get to heaven or hell.”

Chigowe also expressed concerns about the prevalence of such delaying tactics in the league, hinting at a broader issue that needs addressing by match officials.

In response, Telone FC Coach Herbert Maruwa defended his team’s strategy, stating that he was satisfied with the point earned and felt it would prove valuable in their season campaign. When asked about the alleged time-wasting, Maruwa countered by saying his team did not delay but rather managed the game effectively.
