The Meteorological Services Department (MSD) has issued a severe weather warning for Zimbabwe, with heavy rainfall and strong winds expected this week.
Mashonaland East, Central, and Harare provinces are forecast to receive up to 80 millimeters of rain in just four hours tomorrow, while lighter rainfall is expected in other regions. Strong westerly winds will affect Matabeleland South, southern Midlands, and Manicaland.
MSD spokesperson Mr. Makhetha warns of potential flash floods, hail, and lightning, urging residents to clear drainage systems and stay in safe areas. Total rainfall of up to 100 millimeters in 24 hours is anticipated in some places.
The MSD is monitoring the situation and advises the public to stay updated through local news and weather bulletins.
