Man In Court For Assaulting Bar Man over Gold Detector Functionality

A 33-year-old Zvishavane man has appeared in court facing charges of assault as defined in section 89(i)(a) of the criminal law codification and reform Act chapter 9:23.

It is the state’s case that on the 27th of June 2022, at Oretti siding business centre Zvishavane, Solomon Mthombeni assaulted Peter Mafangoye by striking him with a spirit level twice on the head and back.

The court heard that the complainant was doing his duties as a barman when the accused person approached him and told him that his Gold Censor was not working properly and accused the complainant of tempering with the machine since he was the one responsible for charging it.

The accused pleaded guilty as charged and is due back in court for sentencing.
