Man In Court For Theft At Local Sadza Spot

A 43 year old Zvishavane man has been sentenced to 5months  in prison for theft as defined in section 113 of the criminal law codification and reform act chapter 9:23.

It was court’s case that on the 27th of May 2021 the accused Zinjiva Hlongwane who resides in Eastlea went to Mandava to buy Sadza where the complainant Lindiwe Ncube sells Sadza. When the complainant went to wash the dishes 10 metres away from where the complainant was eating the accused took 2 itel phones belonging to the complainant.

The court heard that one phone was recovered.

The Zvishavane magistrate found the accused guilty as charged and sentenced him to 5 months in prison and suspended 90 days on good behaviour condition, 2 months will be a non-custodial sentence for the convict to look for US $50 that has to be paid not later than 30 June 2021.
