A 55 year old Masvingo woman has been slapped with a 5 month prison sentence for assault as defined in section 89 (1)(a) of the criminal law codification and reform act chapter 9:23.
It was the state’s case that on the 26th of May 2021 the complainant Paul Mutembwa who resides at Great Zimbabwe University compound proceeded to the accused Tendai Maganga’s house to collect his monthly rental.
The accused person refused to pay rent arguing that the complainant was no longer entitled to collect rent since the compound now belonged to Great Zimbabwe University.
