Police in the Midlands Province have urged motorists to lock their vehicles and install alarm systems where possible to prevent theft. This follows the theft of a white Honda Fit, registration number AEV 9007, outside Sunset Night Club in Gokwe on October 21, 2024.
Provincial Community Relations Liaison Officer, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, said the vehicle owner, Knowledge Kasinamuchenje (34), from Mapfungautsi suburb in Gokwe, parked his car outside the nightclub at around 1:00 AM without locking the doors.
When he checked an hour later, the car was missing from the parking area.
“We appeal to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect and recovery of the vehicle to contact the police,” said Inspector Mahoko.
He reminded the public to always secure their vehicles and install alarms if resources permit, emphasizing that basic security measures can help deter such crimes. Investigations into the incident are underway.
