The Mberengwa District Development Coordinator (DDC), Vafias Hlavati, has commended platinum miner Mimosa Mining Company for its continued Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts that have significantly uplifted the lives of residents in the district.
Speaking during a tour of Mberengwa District Hospital, where Mimosa is funding major infrastructure upgrades, Hlavati described the miner’s contribution as “transformational.” The projects at the hospital include the construction of a new maternity ward, male and female wards, a state-of-the-art mortuary, modern laundry, and a fully equipped theatre.
🎙️ “We are grateful as a district. What Mimosa is doing at the hospital is visible transformation. This is not just support — it is nation-building,” said Hlavati.
The DDC also highlighted Mimosa’s role in livestock revitalization, noting that the company donated breeding bulls to all 16 traditional chiefs in the district to boost local herds and improve livelihoods.
🎙️ “The bulls donated to the 16 Chiefs have helped to rebuild cattle stocks in our communities. This is long-term empowerment,” added Hlavati.
Mimosa’s ongoing investments continue to position the miner as a key developmental partner in Mberengwa, Zvishavane and the country as a whole.
