Mines and Minerals Amendment Act to end farmer-miner conflicts which date back to 2008*

The Ministry of Mines and Mining Development says the Mines and Minerals Amendment Act seeks to resolve the farmer-miner conflicts that have been ongoing since the land reform programme in 2008.

Speaking recently, the Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Development Ministry, Hon. Polite Kambamura said the amendment act which is set to be finalized soon will ensure miners stop regarding farmers as second citizens.

He added that the act will also ensure mining and farming linkages and partnerships bring fruitful results
