Ministry Of Mines Concerned By Mining Fatality Rate

The Ministry of Mines and Mining Development says the fatality rate during rainy seasons is concerning.

Speaking to Great Dyke news, Chief Mining Engineer, Michael Munodawafa said the mining fatality rate is increasing due to unsafe mining that is being carried out in the sector.

He however indicated that they are carrying out awareness campaigns on mining safety saying it will help in curbing mining accidents.

The Ministry of Mines is currently carrying out a one day training workshop on mining safety in the Midlands Province.
