Marshall Munetsi has been appointed the first vice-captain of Stade de Reims, a recognition of his leadership since joining the French club from Orlando Pirates in 2019. The Warriors international was named to the position by new Slovenian coach Luka Elsner.
Teddy Teuma, who joined Reims last year, has been appointed the club’s new captain. The Maltese midfielder, known for his leadership qualities, will now lead the team alongside Munetsi, who plays a key role in integrating young players and maintaining team cohesion.
Munetsi, who also serves as the vice-captain of Zimbabwe’s national team, will don the captain’s armband in Reims’ Ligue 1 season opener against Lille on Saturday, with Teuma suspended for the match.
