Centre for Natural Resources Governance (CNRG) has called for decentralization of power in the mining sector to curb corruption and other ills that have haunted the sector.
CNRG founding director Farai Maguwu said government should decentralize power to remote areas to deal with situations where locals are left empty handed after the extraction of minerals in their communities.
The remarks come at a time when authorities in the Midlands province have been urged to ensure that local people participate and benefit from lithium mining in their area.
