A driver and one passenger died on the spot while five others were seriously injured after their vehicle hit the back of a stationary truck along Mbalabala-Masvingo road in the early morning hours of the 1st of January.
ZRP Midlands Spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko told Great Dyke News that “Mtokozisi Malunga (24) of Dube Village, Chief Maduna, Filabusi was driving a Honda Fit along Masvingo-Mbalabala road with 7 passengers on board.”
He indicated that “along the same road there was a stationary Scania Tipper Truck which had broken down on the left lane of the same road.
Malunga’s vehicle went and rammed behind the stationary Scania Tipper truck, the accident claimed his and one other passenger’s lives on the spot while six passengers were injured.
Inspector Mahoko indicated that the injured were referred to Mberengwa District Hospital where they are admitted.
