Parliamentary Committee On Mines Speaks On Failure To Adhere To EIAs

The parliamentary portfolio committee on Mines and Mining Development says it is facing challenges with mining companies that are failing to follow Environmental and Social Impact Assessment procedures.

Speaking to Great Dyke news’, Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Mines and Mining Development Chairperson, Hon. Edmund Mkaratigwa said they are using the law to address these problems.

He added that the Mines and Minerals Amendment Act will help in addressing such errors.

He indicated the reasons why mining companies should submit their Environmental and Social Impact Assessment plans and follow them religiously.
