Nedbank Tour de Great Dyke Ambassador Wilson Dube has commended the event organizers for their unwavering dedication to promoting health, wellbeing, and positive lifestyle choices among youths and adults across Zimbabwe. Speaking to Great Dyke News just before the cyclists set off from Selous for the Zimplats leg of the 2024 tour, Dube applauded the initiative as a powerful message to society about the importance of engaging in activities that foster health and discourage violence and drug use.
Dube expressed pride in seeing some of his own trainees now participating in the annual event, highlighting the tour’s role in inspiring the next generation of cyclists and fostering a culture of wellness.
Dube also reflected on the significance of such sporting events in providing young people with constructive outlets and building a healthier, more resilient community.
The cyclists departed from Selous this morning, embarking on the challenging Zimplats lap, which will conclude in Kwekwe later tonight where they will rest before continuing their journey through Zimbabwe’s Great Dyke. The multi-day event continues to draw participants and supporters, underscoring the power of sports in uniting communities and promoting wellness.
