The government has reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating and supporting citizens in income-generating activities across various sectors, including agriculture, mining, and business.
Speaking on the government’s vision for economic empowerment, President Emmerson Mnangagwa assured the nation that his administration remains dedicated to creating opportunities for all.
“My government is determined to facilitate and support you in your enterprises and income-generating activities, as well as other productive endeavours in areas such as agriculture, mining, and business, among others,” President Mnangagwa stated.
Meanwhile, Edgar Moyo, the Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare, provided an overview of the Ministry’s efforts in assisting Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). He highlighted that various programs have been put in place to ensure economic inclusion and sustainable livelihoods for PWDs.
“PWDs are also empowered through revolving loans and grants to promote sustainable communities and independent living,” said Minister Moyo.
The government has been rolling out multiple initiatives aimed at uplifting vulnerable groups, ensuring their full participation in economic activities. The revolving loans and grants provide financial assistance to PWDs to start or expand businesses, reducing dependency and fostering self-reliance.
