Qatar Airways has acquired a 25% stake in Airlink, a privately owned Southern African airline, as part of its strategy to enhance its presence in the African market. This move follows the airline’s expansion into Africa, which has included adding Harare to its network since 2020.

The acquisition aligns with Qatar Airways’ broader growth strategy on the continent. In 2019, Qatar Airways secured a 60% stake in Rwanda’s new international airport and is nearing a 49% stake in RwandAir.
