Six Zvishavane men have appeared before the Zvishavane Magistrate’s court facing charges of promoting public violence.
It is the State’s case that on 31 May 2021 around 0730 hours at Gwamadube primary School, the accused Gilbert Tembo (50), Langton Nyoni (50), Kelliot Hove (42), Martin Mativenga (61), Josphat Hwerengwe (39) and Vurayai Hwerengwe (41) waved placards denouncing the headmaster Farai Ndlela and accusing him of misusing school funds.
The court heard that placards were written Farai must go! , imbavha yemari dzevabereki, Taneta and the group stopped both school children and teachers from entering the school yard.
It is alleged that the six had intentions of causing public violence.
Magistrate Evia Matura remanded them to 9 December.
