Economists and Engineers say the country may have to turn to other alternative energy source to do away with crippling ZESA power outages that have been attributed to a number of factors in recent months and years.

Federation of African Engineering Organizations past President Engineer Martin Manhuwa said more needs to be done in terms of supporting renewable energies and lessen the demand on ZESA’s supply.

Economist Michael Phiri told the same reporter that it will however have to be a phased approach starting with domestic users as industries currently have no capacity to turn to gas or solar.
