Starlink has officially launched in Zimbabwe, going live just before midnight on Friday, 6 September 2024. The much-anticipated service promises download speeds of up to 200Mbps, offering a competitive alternative to existing internet providers.
Zimbabweans can now purchase the Standard Starlink hardware for US$350, with a monthly service fee of US$50 for the residential package. Shipping and handling fees are set at US$23, with deliveries expected to be made directly to customers’ doorsteps.
While the exact version of the Starlink kits being rolled out remains unclear, users are eager to embrace this new era of connectivity. The deposit for the service is US$50, with customers required to pay the remaining balance upon installation.
The launch comes just days after Starlink went live in neighboring Botswana, marking a significant step forward in improving internet access across the region.
