The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed a fatal road accident that occurred on September 5, 2024, at the 217 km mark along the Harare-Masvingo Road at 6:00 a.m. The collision claimed three lives and left two others injured.
According to police reports, a UD truck with three passengers on board veered into the lane of an oncoming Freightliner truck, also carrying three passengers, resulting in a head-on collision. The impact of the crash led to the immediate deaths of three individuals, while two others sustained injuries.
The bodies of the deceased were transported to Mvuma District Hospital for post-mortem examinations, and the injured were admitted to the same facility for treatment. Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
