Trade Unions Speak On Government Salary Increase Regime

Worker Representatives Unions say they are not happy with the National Joint Negotiating Council and how it has handled salary negotiations so far. They say it is being used as a consultative forum rather than a collective bargaining process.

Speaking to Great Dyke news, Apex Council Chairperson David Dzatsunga said the forum favours the employer as it does not give workers the right they should enjoy as enshrined in the constitution.

The Labour Ministry recently announced that the review of salaries will be a gradual process led by quarterly meetings of the National Joint Negotiating Council.
