Two people are feared dead following a serious road traffic accident involving a truck and a private vehicle along the Bulawayo Road near the Mberengwa Turn-Off, close to the Beauty Mining area.
Zvishavane Fire and Rescue Department Chief Fire Officer Rerai Muchara confirmed the incident which occurred approximately 32 kilometres from Zvishavane, with initial reports indicating that both victims were declared dead on arrival.
The collision left both vehicles severely damaged, and emergency teams described the crash as one of the most serious along that stretch in recent weeks.
He urged members of the public who witness such accidents to alert emergency services promptly.
“We encourage witnesses of such accidents to immediately inform the fire brigade so we can respond quickly and help save lives,” said Muchara.
He appealed for the public to use the emergency lines 0771 140 844 or 0771 140 845 to report accidents and request urgent rescue services.
Authorities are continuing to urge motorists to exercise extreme caution along the busy Bulawayo Road, particularly near high-risk areas.
