Villagers Raise Concern Over Diminishing Grazing Land

Villagers in Bikita under Chief Ziki have called on the relevant authorities to take action against people who are clearing new land for farming and residential stands in their area without consultation and taking away grazing land.

Speaking to Great Dyke news, concerned villagers said there is no longer grazing land for their livestock as people are illegally farming and settling everywhere.

Chief Ziki called on the government to land so it will be distributed to villagers as families are ever-growing.

Bikita RDC CEO, Peter Chibi said the council is due to meet with the Bikita Land Committee as well as the Ministry of Lands to map a way forward on the matter.
