Vice President Kembo Mohadi has urged Zimbabweans to see retirement not as the end of life’s productive journey but as a new beginning, emphasizing the importance of effective planning for life after employment.

Speaking at the Public Service Commission Retirement Conference in Bulawayo, Mohadi described retirement planning as a cornerstone of national development, stressing that no public worker should retire into poverty or uncertainty.

“For many, retirement signals the end of the road, often seen as gloomy with little to do and limited resources to survive on. But through stronger planning and long-term financial security, we can change this reality for public servants,” he said.

The conference, running under the theme “Retirement Planning in Action: Transforming Insights into Realities”, reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring that every civil servant retires with dignity and opportunity. Mohadi outlined key highlights of the retirement strategy, emphasizing collaboration and structured planning to safeguard the future of Zimbabwe’s retirees.
