After a goalless draw against Kenya, the Zimbabwe Warriors are bracing themselves for a more formidable challenge against Cameroon in their next AFCON qualifier.

Speaking after sharing the spoils with Kenya, Coach Michael Nees called for an improvement in the team’s overall play, acknowledging that Cameroon presents a different caliber of opposition.

“We have to improve against Cameroon, no doubt about that,” Nees stated. “If they come with their best team, it’s going to be a tough game.”

Nees emphasized the importance of recovery and tactical adjustments, with much of the preparation set to take place off the pitch due to the limited training time between matches. “The training will be in the conference room, with a lot of focus on game intelligence and experience to rectify mistakes,” he explained.

The Warriors will need to lift their game to secure a positive result against Cameroon, a team known for its speed and tactical discipline. A strong defensive performance similar to the one against Kenya will be crucial, but the Warriors will also need to find ways to break through and score if they hope to advance in their AFCON qualification journey.
