FIFA has imposed sanctions on Yadah FC after the Castle Lager Premiership club failed to honor contracts with three former Brazilian players. The club had terminated the deals of Juan Luciano Farias, Deivid Pereira De Brito, and Joao Pedro Marques, whom they signed last year outside the transfer window.
The dispute, initially addressed by the Footballers Union of Zimbabwe (FUZ) and later escalated to FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber, resulted in a June verdict favoring the players. FIFA ordered Yadah to pay $82,000 plus interest by July 27 as compensation.
After missing the payment deadline, Yadah has been slapped with a transfer ban, preventing them from registering new players. FIFA has instructed ZIFA to enforce the ban immediately. Should Yadah continue to disregard the ruling, the Premier Soccer League may be directed to exclude the club from the 2025 season, in line with FIFA and CAF Club Licensing Financial Criteria.
