Warriors mid-fielder Jordan Zemura is confident of a positive result when they collide against the Black Stars of Ghana in the FIFA World Cup qualifying match at the giant National Sports Stadium this afternoon.
Zimbabwe lost 1-3 to Ghana in the reverse fixture and with the loss, their chances of qualifying to their first dance at the global showcase in Qatar was dealt a heavy blow, as their destine is now decided by how results of others in the group pan out. Zimbabwe needs to win all their remaining matches and hopes South Africa and Ghana falter.
Zemura who had a stellar performance for the Warriors believes the 1-3 loss to Ghana at the Cape Coast looked deceptive as he felt that they matched their more fancied opponents pound for pound and the win by Ghana was more on fate than their brilliance.
“We are looking forward to tomorrow: today for a positive result and to be frank that 1-3 loss looks flattering to Ghana. If you ask their coach he will tell you that,” Zemura said.
“We need to get in today’s match with a positive mind and play to the best of our abilities and try to get a positive result. I know it’s going to be a difficult game however everything is possible.”
Zemura had a blinder of a game in Ghana and if he replicates his form to today’s tie then Ghana knows that they have a huge task in trying to contain him.
Zimbabwe will be looking for their first win in the qualifiers so as to have a flicker of hope.
