The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has released the updated fuel prices for August 2024, effective from August 7th. Notably, there are marginal increases in the cost of both diesel and petrol.
The new prices are as follows:
• Diesel 50: $1.63 per litre (up from $1.62 in July)
• Blend – E20: $1.60 per litre (up from $1.59 in July)
These adjustments represent a slight increase of approximately 0.62% for diesel and 0.63% for blend petrol.
The prices, valid until September 4th, reflect the M-1 pricing model. ZERA has indicated that the blending ratio for petrol remains at E20. Fuel operators are permitted to sell at prices below the stipulated maximums if their trading conditions allow and must prominently display the current prices as mandated by fuel pricing regulations.
