The Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) has reported a total power generation output of 1,160 megawatts (MW) as of January 16, 2025. According to the latest daily power generation statistics, Hwange Power Station remains the country’s primary electricity source, contributing 919MW to the national grid.

Kariba Power Station, which has been struggling with low water levels in recent months, supplied 185MW, while Independent Power Producers (IPPs) contributed 56MW.

The total supply of 1,160MW remains significantly below Zimbabwe’s estimated demand of around 1,800MW, raising concerns about continued power shortages and load shedding across the country.
