MWOS FC is set to make its Premier Soccer League (PSL) debut in 2025 after securing a strategic partnership with ZPC Hwange FC, which will now focus on grassroots football development in the Southern Region.
Under the landmark agreement, MWOS FC will take over ZPC Hwange FC’s PSL franchise, while the Hwange-based club redirects its efforts toward nurturing young talent. The partnership blends MWOS FC’s financial muscle and technical expertise with ZPC Hwange FC’s deep community ties, ensuring a sustainable pipeline of future stars.
As part of the deal, ZPC Hwange FC will receive financial support to enhance its regional league participation, while top performers from its 2024 squad will be given opportunities to join MWOS FC for its first PSL campaign. Additionally, MWOS FC will invest in youth development, facility upgrades, technical support, and kit sponsorship for ZPC Hwange FC teams.
Club executives hailed the partnership as a game-changer for Zimbabwean football, emphasizing their commitment to long-term growth.
“This marks a new era for football in Zimbabwe. We are dedicated to nurturing young talent and uplifting communities through sport,” read a joint statement from MWOS FC Chairman Clayton Arimoso and ZPC Hwange FC Club Secretary Mehuli Thebe.
With this alliance, both clubs aim to leave a lasting impact on Zimbabwean football by fostering development and creating new opportunities for emerging players.
