The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) have arrested Tinei Matonho, aged 42, in connection with a murder that occurred on August 3, 2024, at a residence in Section 19, Triangle. Matonho allegedly stabbed his wife, Espina Nhambuka, 45, in the elbow with a sharp object following a heated argument over infidelity. Nhambuka was transported to Collin Saunders Hospital for treatment but succumbed to her injuries upon admission.
In a separate case, police in Nkayi have detained Siphilelinkosi Ngwenya, 30, for the murder of Nkosilamandla Ngwenya, also 30. The incident took place at Zinyangeni Business Centre on August 2, 2024. The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim in the stomach with an okapi knife after an argument over a stolen cell phone. The victim’s body was later discovered in a disused building.
Investigations in both cases are ongoing.
